An Award!

I've been given an award by Rondell at
  • www.rondell-tomatoecreekprims.blogspot.comli
    Thanks Rondell, I am very honored. What a great way to begin my Sunday morning. Now the tough part about this award is that I have to nominate 7 bloggers that don't have this award yet and that is going to be a challenge so here goes:

    Tammy at
  • www.theoldhollowcrow.blogspot.comli
    Genny at
  • www.eweniquetreasures.blogspot.comli
    Lyn56 at
  • www.primpyoupad.blogspot.comli
    Bonnie at
  • www.calamityjanescottage.blogspot.comli
    Marie at
  • www.stonefloweres.blogspot.comli aka A Little bit of Country on the Shore
    Tammy at
  • www.countrygirlathome.blogspot.comli

    And the 7th nomination I will leave for all the bloggers that visit my website. Again, I am very honored and would like to share this award with all of you. Hopefully, I am not breaking any rules.

    The rules for this award are:

    1)Copy the Award;
    2)Add a link to the person who gave you the award;
    3)Nominate 7 blogs that do not have this award yet and include their links (good luck)
    4)Leave the nominee a message that you have nominated them.

    So, I am getting ready to go through all my fall stuff and begin decorating. Yay! I'll post some pictures later. I hope you all have a wonderful Labor Day. Prim Blessings,

    Margarita's Anyone?

    <

    This past Wednesday dh and I along with my brother in-law and sister in-law went to Jimmy Buffet's Margaritaville Concert at Jones Beach. What a blast! I've been to several Jimmy Buffet concerts but never one with tailgaiting. It sure was a sight to see, all those parrots heads and pirates with bottles of rum. The weather could not be any nicer. I was in awe with what people bring there. You'd truly think they were setting up camp there for a week or so. Nonetheless it was pretty cool. Hopefully we'll get to do it again in two years. Jimmy seems to make it to the beach every two years and this time I shall be prepared. Heck, I just might camp out their myself, lol.

    This weekend I am going to sort through my fall decorations and possibly start decorating the inside on Monday, hehe you just don't know...I can't wait! I'd start today, but I'm having my sister in-law and her dh come from Connecticut for a barbecue and they will be staying the night, so I really can't begin rummaging and making a mess if I'm going to have company. Oh well, I'll just wait until tomorrow afternoon. Hope you all have a wonderful Saturday. Prim Blessings,

    Autumn is in the Air

    What wonderful weather we're having here in the Northeast. This morning it was 58 degrees and you could feel that cool nip in the air. Ahh breath in that fresh autumn air. Can you believe that this coming weekend will be the unofficial end of summer? I don't care what anyone says, this summer flew right by, like fog in the wind. At least I got to go to the beach several times this summer (a whopping three times :o ) and believe me, that's a lot. I even got to go to the annual Americana Fair this year. It seems that particular fair falls on a busy weekend every year but this year. I went to a couple of barbeques and even a Tikki Bar. Tikki Bar? Yep,there was a new restaurant/bar that opened up this year called the Off Key Tikki Bar its really nice but expensive but that's a whole other posting. Nonetheless I had a good summer with the exception of Stallion getting sick. This afternoon I visited several blogs and came across a post about simple pleasures. Linda at
  • www.behindmyreddoor.blogspot.comli and
    Carolyn at
  • www.cranberrycrossings.blogspot.comli both posted their simple pleasures and made me stop and think of mine. If you ladies don't mind, I will copy your idea so that I may post a few of my simple pleasures. They are:
    1) I love to hear the birds sing at sunrise;
    2)The smell of hazelnut coffee;
    3)Hearing my dh's car pull into the driveway, home from work;
    4)I love to hear my mom's excitement when I call her on the phone;
    5)I love to see the expression on Stallion's face and him charge the door when I say "Daddy's Home!";
    6)Speaking to my best friend over coffee Saturday mornings;
    7)The smell of pumpkin spice in the fall, pine in the winter and honesuckle in the summer;
    8)Seeing the first signs of the first snow fall of the season;
    9)Seeing the first signs of Spring (crocuses and daffodils);
    10) The smell of Thanksgiving dinner.

    This was a great idea. It really puts things into perspective and makes you appreciate the simples things. I recommend everyone try this.

    Before I forget there are several giveaways taking place this week. Please go on over and visit Rondell at
  • rondelltomatoecreekprims.blogspot.comli She is giving away a set of samplers inspired by the four seasons. They are absolutely charming. Good Luck. Prim Blessings,

  • My Poor Baby Boy, Stallion

    It's been quite a while since I've logged on and posted anything. Unfortunately, Stallion has been pretty ill and I've been up and down at the vets. He picked up some kind of bacteria and also has acute pyoderma which is like eczema. Poor guy has been on steriods and antibiotics for several weeks now. Fortunately, they are working and he is much better. He's almost his old self again. It's amazing how one can become so attached to a pet. I was in tears when the vet brought him out to me after shaving one side of is face and I could see where the irritation was. It had spread from his below his ear, down his neck to his shoulder. I felt so bad because all the while I thought he was rolling in bird poo or cat poo and so I, of course, I'd give him a bath not knowing that he had an infection. My poor baby. I am alot more aware now. I make sure that I check his body for any type of irritations or lesions.

    On a lighter note, can you believe its almost fall? I am so excited! I'll begin decorating the weekend after Labor Day. :P I know its early but Fall is my favorite season (Christmas a close second)and I've been looking through all my fall decorations salivating and trying to be patient. Time for hay stacks, scarecrows and mums. Yippee! I have all my fall candles waiting for me to light them up. Oh, delicious pumpkin spice and apple cinnamon and cool evenings. Aaah.... Well I'll leave you now and check in with you later.

    Prim Blessings,

    Siri
